How would you describe this interaction between Renki and Woton (standing) two mid-ranking wolves? What is the significance of the wolves’ postures?

Even though I can’t tell and don’t care what “kind” of love this portray, clearly that’s “love.” I know because Tigerlily and Charlie have played this same sort of “one paw over your eye” game quite a lot, most especially when I first brought him home. I could show you images that show practically the exact same pose, and I even have a video of them doing the same sort of behavior on my http://www.clickertraining.com/blog/668 scroll back to Tigerlily Loves Charlie, True Love Always.

I see similar behavior from my rottie girls - Neelah is almost always on the bottom, and puts her feet up either to push Jayda away or Neelah will ‘roll and smack’ during play. This looks like the wolf on the ground is telling the other one “I mean no harm”

I don’t see this as aggressive at all and it looks like Renki is in a more submissive position. Woton may have been standing over Renki and looks like he was making direct eye contact or at least was until Renki put his paws up.

Without being able to see the standing wolfs tail, its difficult to say,but I would say that by his stiff legged, arched neck and back posture and both of their mouths being closed tight, love is not exactly what Im seeing. The wolf on the ground is being submissive, but not all that afraid, but it looks as though they are simply establishing ones alpha over the omega.
